This Charleston style home fits perfectly in the quaint street scape of the historic waterfront town of Oxford, Maryland. You are welcomed by an expansive front two story porch with views of Town Creek. The home features a gravel driveway with ample parking, exterior Cypress siding and a standing seam metal roof. Inside youll find generous rooms with heart of pine flooring, custom moldings, 10 first and 9 second floor ceiling height. The kitchen, with breakfast bar, is open to a cozy family room with gas fireplace. A lovely wide front hall leads to the living room which adjoins a spacious formal dining room. Upstairs there is a master suite with full bath and walk-in closet plus two additional bedrooms and a full bath. A door from the hall and also the master bedroom lead to the scenic second story porch. *****The property is just two blocks from Oxfords main street and the public waterfront park. Also a short walk to restaurants and other downtown amenities. **** A special note from the owner: I fell in love with Seaside, Florida and initially wanted to build a Charleston style house there as there were several similar designs in that community but bought an existing cottage instead. In traveling through Georgetown, South Carolina, I came across four new Charleston style houses built downtown that fit beautifully into the streetscape and took lots of pictures. A short time later, while living in Oxford, an article about the houses appeared in a Southern Living issue. At about the same time the lot became available for sale so I purchased the plans from Southern Living. With the lot being rectangular, I thought it was a perfect site for a Charleston style house. While the front entrance respects the Market Street streetscape, the east facade is also street-oriented and the second floor porch provides a view of town Creek. The plans provided the flexibility to determine materials, the kitchen design and interior features. Siding is cypress; floors are heart pine. Baseboard, crown molding, window trim, transom, living room columns are attributable to the builder, Joe Balderson. Interiors colors are based on Martha Stewarts Araucana Colors series.
